About TRELLIS
TRELLIS is listed in our 3D & concept art category and is aimed at builders. Microsoft's open model for generating high-quality 3D assets from text or images. Pricing, as the maker states it: Free and open source (MIT). Maturity: Active. We last checked the official link on 2026-10-20.
What is TRELLIS?
TRELLIS is Microsoft's open model for generating 3D assets from text or image prompts. It is built on a unified Structured LATent (SLAT) representation that can be decoded to different formats, including radiance fields, 3D Gaussians and meshes, with rectified-flow transformers as the backbone.
Microsoft released pre-trained models of up to 2 billion parameters trained on a dataset of 500K diverse 3D objects, plus training code, the TRELLIS-500K dataset and Gradio demos. It also supports variants of the same object and local editing of a generated asset. The maintainers recommend generating an image first and using the image model, since the text-conditioned models are less detailed.
